Two decorated initials, the rest capitalized. 18 lines to each page.  7 point (smallest readable size). Linen and cotton rag laid paper as used in the 17th century. Earliest Houghton Heures de Cour is from 1682. Welsh, 3440 lists the earliest known copy as 1678. The earliest in WorldCat is a single copy dated 1677 (University of Virginia). The only other recorded example is the Victoria and Albert Museum copy that has two plates -  there is no sign that any plates were ever bound in this copy and the other editions similarly do not have any plates. Original marbled endpapers. Later inscription in red ink on verso of preliminary blank page, undated. Provenance: Henri Rupin. 35 x 50 mm. Contemporary full brown morocco with five raised bands. Seven ornamental silver corner-pieces, central plaque and clasps on each cover. Slight damage to one silver corner-piece and one silver hasp, preventing the lower clasp from staying closed.
