
Second edition, of the first of two story books about Winnie the Pooh following the 1924 poetry collection, When We Were Young ; it has always been much the more loved and most well-known title in that group.
A beautiful copy bound in green, woven cloth stamped with Christopher Robin and Pooh on the front cove in gilt. Top edges gilt. Minuscule spots on a couple of page margins.
Contemporary ink and pencil ownership inscriptions on blank preliminary page, dated Christmas 1926. Provenance: Margaret Chick. Chick is an old English Romany surname, possible derived from the word 'cheek'.
