Slight tanning to text block edges. Boards have slight tanning. Unclipped jacket with slight edge wear and light rubbing. Small areas of loss to the rear and top front edge. Provenance:- This copy was acquired from the descendants of Tony Hoolahan Q.C., a prominent libel lawyer who successfully prosecuted Private Eye, (represented by John Mortimer of Rumpole fame) on behalf of Desmond Wilcox (married to Esther Rantzen of "That's Life" fame) in 1982. Lloyd-Jones (1914-80) was the most sought after vet in Britain (developing his nature cure methods), perhaps his most famous client, Sir Winston Churchill, Britain’s Prime Minister during the Second World War. In 1965 Buster's polio forced him to retire as a vet and, confined to a wheelchair, he wrote this book and a sequel in 1972. I cannot discover who the Dot of his dedication was but perhaps she was Dorothy Hoolahan- who he inscribed this copy to.
