Each volume covered in green buckram with a ploughman & plough & two horses to front cover and with a geometric cartouche to the rear cover in black red edges and gilt titles to spines. 3%" x 22" They are housed in a tartan covered Mauchline box with a double hinged lid which has a portrait of Burns on the upper half and a view of his cottage in Alloway, Ayrshire an the lower half.
