Full contemporary dyed black pin-headed sealskin, decorated with a scrolling blind tool ornament, complete with flower corner-pieces; spine with gilt titling, slightly rubbed. A very good example of Bagster & Sons particular style of binding with a flexible tight spine, the sheets being sewed with thin thread or silk, and possibly associated with bookbinder Joseph Welsh of 10 Queen Street, Golden Square, who was known to have crafted ‘Bagster's Renowned Bindings.’ This particular edition, not listed in WorldCat.
