The 15 printed pages comprising the Four National Anthems, Evening Prayer of a People by Neil Monro and Recessional by Kipling have been excised and the Bible was contemporaneously rebound in a unique binding of full black morocco. Possibly an uncommon survivor that had belonged to a wealthy soldier and/or officer from World War 1 whilst on active duty. All edges red. 30 x 46 mm. Contemporary full black morocco; spine with 'HOLY BIBLE' in gilt with horizontal gilt lines; covers panel mitred in gilt. Normally found bound in khali buckram, for the use of soldiers on campaign.
