Symons was an English decorative designer who notably produced mosaic work at Westminster Cathedral, yet he is best known as a painter in oil and watercolour. Mitchell was also a renowned British artist, commissioned to paint many naval and merchant ships. Whilst many of his collected works were originally published in 'The Royal Navy' in a series of illustrations, many originals are held in the National Maritime Museum Collection in Greenwich, England. Charles Rathbone Low served as as a Lieutenant in the Indian Navy, and published numerous historical studies on maritime themes, including his best known work, his 'History of the Indian Navy (1613-1863)'. These three volumes are a comprehensively detailed history of the Royal Navy from the American Revolution through 1892. Besides the Revolution and the War of 1812, Low covers the Napoleonic Wars and Admiral Nelson and his battles. Please email me before you place your order to find out the cost of shipping.
