Matching slipcase, 22 unnumbered printed pages, duty stamp, including saints days, calendar, table of Kings and Queens, Lord mayors & sheriffs, holidays and current coins. Engraved full-page illustrations of the New Hall, Christ's Hospital. All edges gilt. Original marbled endpapers. 30 x 60 mm. Original red leather venetian mosaic binding with stylised chevron and flower motifs in gilt in the central panels. Matching vertical slipcase. Slipcase very  slightly rubbed. First produced in 1749 -that first edition survivng in a unique copy at the British Library - the London Almanac continued annually until 1889. A similar edition is in the Queen Mary's Dolls' House in Windsor Castle.  Bondy, 39 and 164. Not in Spielmann in this format. Welsh, 4633. WorldCat locates no copies of this format and this edition, worldwide.
