Engraved full-page illustrations of the New Hall, Christ's Hospital. All edges gilt. Original marbled endpapers. 30 x 60 mm. Original red leather venetian mosaic binding with stylised chevron and flower motifs in gilt in the central panels. Matching vertical slipcase. Slipcase very slightly rubbed. First produced in 1749 -that first edition survivng in a unique copy at the British Library - the London Almanac continued annually until 1889.
