Lord Byron's poem "The Corsair" had an anti-hero protagonist, based on the life of privateer & pirate Jean Lafitte. Even four years afer Byron's death, the epic verse, divided into cantos, the Corsair, remained sensationally popular, and led to several famous operas. Webb and Millington were small provincial publishers who produced chapbooks amongst their 16 known titles. Welsh noted just two copies of this title in commerce. 60 x 75 mm.
