First published by John Weale in 1860 with a 2nd edition in 1867. This was a pocket-sized book for builders and not many survived. It was published when the major British cities were undergoing a massive private building boom, particularly of Victorian brick, one, two and three bedroomed terrace houses, the majority of which are still occupied to this day. The British Library has an 1860 edition and WorldCat locates the later 1886 and 1892 editions. But this particular edition does not appear to be in any worldwide library holdings itself.
