Circa 1851. "Needle Box" Baxter prints (for needle boxes begun in 1850, we believe), by the patented process of colour printing in oil- intaglio and relief printed in colour ink (Baxter process).
Each print is 48 x 29 mm.
Mounted one above the other in a contemporary ebonised wood frame, with original glass and brass loop and support at the rear. The mount has Baxter's blind embossed Royal Patent stamped into the bottom border.
Osborne House, Isle of Wight, was the Royal Summer Residence for Queen Victoria.
In totally original and untouched state, this is an attractive and intriguing, framed and glazed, miniature ensemble.
