64 double pages. Decorative woodcut borders. In English, translated from Persian. An unusual oblong-format Bryce with page one containing both the title-page, printed in the plain text of the later issue, and the first page of the preface. Not sewn to create the double-page spreads as found in the first issue. All edges gilt. Original marbled endpapers. Contemporary pencil date on front free endpaper, Xmas 1908. 88 x 58 millimetres. Original finely gilt-stamped olive calf with yapp edges. This scarce landscape format is more often found in the slightly larger "Bookpost" Edition (Potter, 24) with a printed card binding - this is in the smaller de-luxe calf binding. Both editions were less popular than the tinier portrait format edition,, according to Bondy; so both are less common, and this edition is the least common Bryce imprint of all. Spine worn with loss to head and tail of spine. Yapp edges rubbed with some defects and losses to extreme edges. Garbett, 18. Bondy, 106. Newsletter of LXiMos, 16, 5 #7. Welsh, 5354.
