Gordon Murray (1921 - 2016) was the Author, Illustrator, Calligrapher, Book designer, and Publisher of Silver Thimble books. After his career as a producer and puppeteer for popular children's television programs like Camberwick Green and Trumpton, Murray turned to producing miniature books under the Silver Thimble imprint. He performed all aspects of the bookmaking process himself, founded and ran Silver Thimble Books, working from his home in Bexhill-On-Sea, England. He illustrated the books, often using his own hand-colored illustrations and watercolors.He inscribed the text with his own calligraphy and designed the overall look of the miniature books. He bound the books by hand. These miniature books are now considered collectors' items and they include:
