Sixth edition. Gold foiling on front cover reading 'King Edward's School Bruton 1834'. All page edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Full vellum binding, cover in good condition with minor discolouration. Some spotting on first few pages. Two ownership inscriptions on front free end paper, "John Bradley Byrne from his uncle Henry Byrne" and "ex libris John [?] Campbell". This is possibly the mathematician John Campbell (1862-1924) from Oxford who was best known for his contribution to the Baker-Campbell-Hausdorff formula for multiplication of exponentials.
