Printed in red and blue (slightly worn at top and bottom from being inserted and withdrawn from its snug fitting slipcase). 0.9 x 3" Original green morocco. Complete with unique and specially commissioned contemporary hallmarked 21 gram silver slipcase with hinged loop and elaborate repousse rococco decoration along its full length, back & front. Full hall marks (slightly rubbed):-Anchor, for Birmingham; Lion Passant. "Z", for 1899; "M", Mappin or Maples? "R[egistere]d 520491". Inscribed as a memento, "Dresden 11ten Januar[y] 1905; Grunes Gewolbe, Gemalde Galerie, Johanneum [&] Hoftheater [where Straus premiered his operas 1842-1911]". Welsh, 2244. Grolier, 139.
