Original marbled endpapers. Front paste-down with red morocco diamond-shaped inset of owner's name within elaborate gilt scrolled borders, dated 1828. Provenance: from Thomas Atkins to his wife Ann presumably as a wedding present. 63 x 103 mm. Original full wrap-around red straight-grained morocco with engraved silver catch, hasp, and button. Spine with gilt titling within elaborate gilt decoration in compartments with corner-pieces. Back covers with central gilt lyre within scrolling foliate borders. Two short tears either side of the silver catch. Covers worn to the gilt and at corners. Old scorch mark to the left of the silver hasp. OCLC, 926986457.
