Constitues a calendar, two pages to the month, and lists of the Royal Family, Ladies in Waiting, Queen's Ministers, Sovereigns of Europe and so on. This is the first English Bijou Almanac (1836-43) and also the smallest. All edges gilt. Original burgundy endpapers. No inscriptions. 13 x 23 mm. Original red and gilt decorated leather spine. White boards with gilt roccocco decorations and green overlays. Complete with original white slipcase with elaborate gilt and brown decoration. All preserved within original brown velvet and satin box with folding lid , brass hinges and catch. Box covering lightly age-toned from mild handling. Bondy, 42 and 165. Not in  Spielmann. Albert Schloss published this volume two years after tax had been removed on almanacs. The text steel engraving, worked entirley with the burin by an unknown man - the equivalent of 3 point or less - is the smallest known in a continuous text. Bondy found the editions of 1836, 1837, 1838, and 1843 to be "the most rare".
