With Estelle's ownership label attached to bottom of front free endpaper. Illustrated with 18 b/w plates. Estelle Spottiswoode (born 1925, died 2018) was a renowned Mezzo Soprano and music teacher. After studies at Julliard she was taught by Maggie Teyte and moved to England to continue studies, she married - raised a family and embarked upon a very successful career in music performing recitals and opera throughout the country. She appeared as Kate in Puccini's Madame Butterfly in the second opera ever televised (by the BBC). Richard Miller has written articles for over 120 professional journals. He also edited several musical anthologies and collections. This book has impeccable provenance- it was bought by myself from Estelle's youngest son at her flat at 28 Belsize Lane London NW3 in 2019.
