Original red cloth, spine titled in gilt. Third Volume:Science of Life Series. One of several works aimed at popularizing the scientific discoveries of Charles Darwin, written with H.G.Wells' son, G. P. Wells, and evolutionary biologist Julian Huxley (brother of Aldous and grandson of Darwin's bulldog Thomas Huxley). Andrew Barlow (1916 2006) was the great grandson of Charles Darwin. His mother Nora Darwin (1885 1989), the daughter of Horace Darwin, married Sir Alan Barlow and also edited the Autobiography of Charles Darwin. Andrew was a paediatrician at West Middlesex Hospital, London, England. He lived at 10 Wimpole Street, London, from where, on 6th August 2017, I purchased this book from his daughter, Dr. Claire Yvonne Barlow (b. 24 Sep 1954) when it's contents were cleared and the property was sold.
