vi, [1], 8-64 pages. Introduction by the Rev. W. Marsh, M.A. Printed by J. Allen, Cannon street, Birmingham. Some corner tips of leaves missing. Uniform age-toning. No inscriptions. 53 x 64 mm. New dark blue wrappers. Not in Bondy, nor Spielmann, nor Welsh. OCLC, 234238508. WorldCat locates three copies worldwide (Virginia, Indiana, and Washington St. Louis University Libraries).  This small biblical excerpt, fashionable in early nineteenth century Britain, would fit easily in a small pocket or the palm of a hand, and was intended for private devotion, or as a gift. Rather than a mass produced book by a London religious society, this example was published by a small provincial publisher in Birmingham, and its survival is also  remarkable because of its fragility, its size, and its very portability.  Little is known of T. Groom's press and there are only three recorded copies in institutional libraries worldwide. Provenance: this copy was sold to me by the late Michael Garbett, miniature book dealer and author.
