Circa 1900. Lyrics of 72 different songs on 92 printed pages. In German Fraktur, blackletter font (some small sections in Latin & in a Western font). 46 x 55mm. Original grey, printed card with art nouveau/jugendstil decoration on upper cover and titling (cover slightly browned in a few patches). Unusual, engine-turned, jugendstil, silvery-white lustrous metal, with a slight golden tinge -possibly nickel & used as a substitute for decorative silver- metal slipcase; six vertical lines with organic leaf-like swirling pattern between. Includes the song, O Strasbourg, O Strasbourg, you beautiful city! (from The Gazebo 1870); Strasbourg was a disputed French territory. Some patriotic, some featuring soldiers, mostly secular sentimental songs. No copies found in WorldCat. Not in Bondy, nor Spielmann, nor Welsh. Seller Inventory # 5329
