Original grey paper covers with green text above a tipped in pochoir process print. Covers a little worn at edges, along hinges and at the head & tail of the spine. Good but incomplete copy of the March 1927 issue of the periodical Les Créations Parisiennes which included, like the Gazette du Bon Ton, fashion plates enhanced with hand coloured stencils. This issue includes creations for the Summer of 1927 by Margaine Lacroix, Jean Patou, Jenny, Alice Bernard, Martial & Armand, etc. The models shown on the cover are by Creations Brandt. The 1920s fashion era is unparalleled by the sheer magnitude of cultural change. It began in many ways with the spread of women's suffrage in the immediate post war years. Some surprising late adopters of women's suffrage were the United States in 1920 and France in 1945. The First World War blew apart the stifling control of class society in Europe, and women found a new sense of freedom and the right to feminine self expression, epitomised by the Jean Patou ensemble worn by a female golf playing model.
