Minuscule bleeding from red edges into margins, not affecting the text. Inscription slightly smudged in parts. Rounded corners. All edges red. Original cream endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription on front free endpaper to Len from Annie, dated November 26th 1914. 45 x 52 mm. Original buff buckram - a binding commonly utilised for troops in World War One. Spine with red titling above laurel leaves and up-thrust sword hilt; front cover withapplied hoisted Union flag on white flagpole, within red printed borders with oak leaf design corner-pieces. Mild rust spots on back cover. Slight wear but overall in  good condition. Not in Bondy, nor Spielmann. Welsh, 798. WorldCat locates no copies worldwide.
