North to the Rime-Ringed Sun - being the record of an Alaskan-Canadian journey made in 1933-34.  By Isobel Wylie Hutchison.  London, Blackie, 1934 (1st ed.)   viii, 262 printed pages; colour frontispiece & 3 other colour plates from watercolours by the author; 16 photographic plates & folding map.  Light foxing to edges & small sticky tape residues on endpapers otherwise a nice tight clean copy.  16 x 22 cm. Original blue cloth with white lettering. Corners very slightly bumped & slight crease along top of spine and back cover. Upper cover very slightly faded. Isobel Wylie Hutchison (1889–1982) was a Scottish Arctic traveller and botanist. She also wrote poetry, books on her travels and articles in various geographic magazines. She painted many scenes from her adventures. She was awarded the RSGS's Fellowship Diploma in 1932, and the Mungo Park Medal on 24 October 1934. The Mungo Park Medal is awarded for an outstanding contribution to geographical knowledge through exploration or adventure in potentially hazardous physical or social environments.  It was awarded first in 1930.
