Engraved frontispiece, engraved title page, 87 -some signed- copper engraved plates, with engraved titles in the lower plate, (sporadic foxing). Untrimmed edges. Heavy gauge rag paper. 235 x 168 mm. Original buff wrappers (slightly rubbed and age-toned with short split at upper hinge and a few small ink spots). Upper cover with copper engraving. Cuccioni published the New Collection of Ancient and Modern Views and of the City of Rome of engravings of Roman monuments between 1820 and 1840 and later took up photographing Rome, also to great acclaim, in 1852. It is uncommon to find a copy in the original wrappers, especially when they are so well preserved. Seller Inventory # 5256
