31 printed pages. Collection of 15 poems. Loosely inserted a printed 56 line poem "In Lambing Time" on antique-woven paper, signed by author "Patrick R. Chalmers" [1872-1942] above a 4.5 cm lamb's profile in gold at the bottom right corner. The insert is folded down the middle and, showing two indistinct stab marks along the crease, was probably the inside of a Christmas card, retained for the otherwise unpublished poem and author's signature. 14.5 x 22cm. Publisher's orange and blue checquer-board hand-printed & hand-made paper covered boards. White printed paper label on upper cover with black lettering within scrolling border. Chalmer's poetry was widely taught to and commited to memory by a huge number of children in Primary schools throughout the UK in the early 1950's. Bookseller Inventory # 4300
