Includes 31 page bibliography of editions of Omar Khayyam. 1905 art nouveau bookplate featuring a flying crane (for "Primrose") on front free endpaper and inscription to "Primrose" on paste down endpaper. Bookbinder/bookseller's signature in gilt in the lower border of the rear free endpaper. All edges gilt. 11 x 18.5 cm. Contemporary fine full deep red crushed morocco art nouveau binding by Hatchards of 187 Piccadilly, with gentle patina from over 100 years of handling. Spine in six gilt tooled, lettered, dated and ruled compartments, with five raised bands. Upper and lower covers with gilt tooling, the floriate corner tools, dotted lines and overall effect influenced by the Guild of Women Binders (1898-1904). Inner gilt triple fillet borders.
