Third edition. 128 pages. Printed by Charles Whittingham at the Chiswick Press. All edges gilt. Front hinge split but holding firm. 27 x 32 mm. Original dark maroon roan. Gilt ruled borders, gilt floral tooling and horizontal  ruled gilt lines on the spine. According to Bondy, this title "belongs to the best-loved miniature books, and was obviously much treasured by our Victorian ancestors." At least 34 editions were published in England, making it the most common miniature book of the first half of the 19th Century. The earlier editions are less commonly found today. Bondy, 127.
