Engraved bookplate on front paste-down endpaper. All edges gilt. Floral scrolling inner gilt dentelles. Neat inscription dated 1898 on verso of front free endpaper. 14.5 x 19 cm. Contemporary full crushed green morocco. Spine in six compartments with raised bands, inlaid leaf designs, gilt lettering & hand-tooled floral borders. Gilt filletted board edges. Spine and boards slightly faded in parts. Presents beautifully and is in very good condition. Provenance:- formerly owned by Agatha Royds Trevor (died 1933), daughter of Sir Walter Green of Nether Hall. Bookplate by Charles William Sherborn, (1883-1911) depicting abundant acanthus leaves, with books, and portrait of Nether Hall in Suffolk. Crest has linked metal rings within a cross, surrounded by circular crescent shapes-engraved in black & white, dated 1903 and initialled in the plate by artist. Bookseller Inventory # 5038
